mirage

i think i saw you once the sun shining bright adding to the halo around your head walking away from me as always my heart called your name i felt your hand in mine the ghost of a kiss on my temple i’ve changed the colour of my hair bought new clothes maybe i’ve changed too much i think i heard your voice calling someone else’s name never my name on your lips turning around before my deceitful heart explodes from joy i think i saw you once you never saw me  a shadow

blood haiku

when falling in love  disregard caution, just fall   there will be much blood a ray of sunshine  waiting for you, forever  a promise of snow as if my own heart  decided to stop beating  a hole where you were

late night/early morning

Venus on a dark blue stretch of sky. Dawn colours the world in a pale yellow light. Darkness is upon us. Winter is here. My fingers are icy. How long until spring? Venus fades as day arrives. The shortest day. Still full of light. Cold fingers, hot tea.  Venus winks as she goes to sleep.

The watchmen

Freedom. The billowing plain gives us freedom. The eternal grass dances in the wind. From the tall mountains and the deep forests in the north, to the sharp rocks and the raging waves in the south, it stretches. On four legs we move fast, galloping at breakneck speed gives us wings. We watch the land.

heartstrings

hearts beating as one worlds apart exchanging simple words laughing in different timezones fibre optic strings lighting up the night tying us together  never touching

this my life

if this wasn’t my life, I would travel. perhaps by train, to the Mediterranean, or maybe by plane, to the Caribbean. only bringing a change of clothes, my passport and my straw hat, buy the rest when I get there. a small hotel, a few rooms, with white curtains billowing in the wind, overlooking the beach, the sea, the sky. coffee in a small cup while the sky first becomes rosy pink, then blue and finally black and full of the stars of the universe. the sea breeze rustling the leaves, growing still. the night air is filled with the heavy perfumes of flowers and I would just sit there, watching the night sky and then go lie in the big bed with the white sheets. this would be my life, if this life wasn’t mine.
